Root Canal (Endodontics)

Endodontics deals with the tissue inside the teeth. If the tissue inside the tooth becomes inflamed, infected or necrotic, it must be cleaned out and sealed or the tooth should be removed. This process of cleaning and sealing is referred to as a root canal. Root canals are probably the most notorious procedure in dentistry and the most common procedure relating to endodontics. Although root canals can be time-consuming, 99% of root canals are painless.
